SCREENING

of

Kolorlokál

 1998 | 54 min | Hungary

(Tilos Rádió’s popular Friday program)

Between 1991-1993 Forbidden Radio (Tilos Rádió) was a pirate station in Budapest. Since 1995 it has been legally broadcasting programs from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. on 98 FM. This radio doesn’t give ads. It subsidizes itself with the help of its listeners. This film is about Tilos Rádió’s popular Friday morning program, Kolorlokál. It is from 7 A.M. to 10 A.M. That is a nongovermental forum which demonstrates how people live their life in the city. People of diverse age and style, social status give their views on a large variety of issues, through which a complex and multicolored picture about Budapest is presented.
