Social Policy

CPS has started to address some outstanding issues related to social policy. The role of education in promoting social inclusion is an important research area at the intersections of different policy arenas. One of the Center’s recent flagship projects investigates interethnic relations in educational systems and policies. CPS is also taking part in a larger comparative research project on the future of a European labor market by leading and contributing to research clusters in the area of the labor market integration of different vulnerable or often discriminated social groups. Inter-ethnic relations, minority rights and social, economic and political inclusion of minority ethnic groups are broad issues that are brought up by a number of activities of CPS and crosscut its various investigations. CPS has also worked closely with several Open Society Foundation programs involved in education (Education Support Program, Higher Education Support Program), as well as Roma Initiatives, the International Policy Fellowship and the Local Government and Public Service Initiative.
