Sara Svensson is Research Fellow at the Center for Policy Studies, where she conducts research on collaborative governance practices within European public administration systems for the project 'Transforming into Open, Innovative and Collaborative Governments (TROPICO)' and is the contact person for the Regional Studies Association research network 'Regional Economic and Policy History'. She takes a special research interest in policy formation and governance structures in European cross-border regions and has published on that topic in Eurasian Geography and Economy, Journal of European Integration, Regional & Federal Studies, Territory/Politics/Governance, Regions & Cohesion, Journal of Borderlands Studies and various edited volumes.
Sara Svensson has prevously worked as both a researcher and research manager at the Center for Policy Studies, and has been a visiting professor at the CEU School of Public Policy. She regularly undertakes teaching and supervision at several Swedish universities and occasionally contributes to broadcast and print media in Sweden. She holds a PhD in public policy/political science from CEU, an MA in political science from CEU (1999) and a BA in journalism from Stockholm University (1997). Before entering academia, she worked at different locations as a news journalist for the public service broadcasting company Sveriges Radio
