Six Working Papers on Social Capital in Hungary

May 16, 2008

CPS regularly makes available short working papers for debate. Six papers on social capital and social policy in Hungary were recently published online.

These stem from the project “Social Cohesion, Trust and Participation: Social Capital, Social Policy and Social Cohesion in the European Union and Candidate Countries” LINK: RESEARCH/SOCIAL CAPITAL/SCSPN), a two-year international research project that ended in December 2007. The aim of the project was to demonstrate the ways in which informal and formal social networks influence social policy making and implementation in seven member states and two candidate countries. The working papers were quoted substantially in the general report, which was compiled by the project coordinator, the London School of Economics. The report was commissioned by the EU’s Directorate-General for Employment and Social Affairs, as one of the sources for its annual Social Situation Report.
