Junior fellowship at the CEU Institute for Advanced Study

The CEU-IAS is pleased to announce a new Call For Applications for young researchers from Central and Eastern Europe in the framework of the fellowship programme 'Fresh perspectives on the new European democracies' funded by the Volkswagen Foundation.

The program offers 5 month residential fellowships at CEU-IAS for the 2012/2013 academic year for excellent young scholars to provide a stimulating, multidisciplinary and international environment for promoting the exchange of ideas among potential future academic leaders in the CEE region.

The main purpose of the Fellowship Programme is to enhance the knowledge base in the region by creating a dynamic and interactive research community of young scholars in the social sciences and the humanities across countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The thematic focus of the programme is on improving understanding of key challenges and opportunities in the CEE region, through fresh perspectives and original insights of young scholars.

The Programme welcomes applications from promising scholars primarily at an early stage of their careers. Applicants must have PhD in hand at the time of the application. Researchers considered "junior" if their PhD was defended in 2005 or later.
