Migration, Mobilities and Translocal Development

February 11, 2016

The University of Utrecht organises a summer school on migration, mobilities and translocal development between 04 July 2016 - 15 July 2016.

In the 'age of migration', more people are moving across and within national borders, and living in transnational/translocal spaces. New and/or intensified flows of people (bundled with other non-human flows) contribute to rapid transformations in all parts of the world. This course focuses on the politics of mobility and examines the differences in terms of regulations, conditions of movements, and impact on human development. The course adopts a translocal perspective to interrogate the causes, nature and impact of migration and mobilities, paying attention to the contexts of and processes in migrants' places of origin, destinations and en route.
