About Dr. Bertalan Mesko

Dr Bertalan Mesko is a Hungarian trained physician who is the founder and managing director of Webicina.com and founder of The Social MEDia Course . Dr. Mesko is currently a PhD candidate in clinical genomics at the University of Debrecen Medical School and Health Science Center. Webicina.com is the world’s first and only free service that provides curated medical social media resources in over 80 medical topics in over 17 languages. Founded by Dr. Mesko, the company’s mission is to let empowered patients and medical professionals access the most relevant social media content in their own languages on a customizable, easy-to-use platform on a free basis. Dr. Mesko will speak to us about his experiences with how the new generation of physicians and e-patients use social media and digital technologies, as well as discuss crowdsourcing in medicine (including curating the medical segments of social media on Webicina.com and teaching medical students about digital literacy on thecourse.webicina.com).
