“Spending cuts and centralization in Hungarian healthcare as a response to the international financial crisis”
Dr. Peter Mihalyi is Professor of Economics at CEU and Head of the Department of Finance at the University of Pannonia, Veszprem, Hungary. Prof. Mihalyi’s edited two volume study, “Health Insurance Reform in Hungary” is a comprehensive study of Hungary’s health insurance reforms during the period 2006-8 and the influence of Dutch and Slovak insurance models on those reforms.
Prof. Mihalyi has recently taken on the editor-in-chief role of Acta Oeconomica, one of the intellectual and editorial success stories of the Central European economic transition, a refereed journal with a worldwide reputation, an authorship from over thirty countries, an impact factor and a leading role among academic journals in the Central and South-East European region.
