Confronting Climate Change: Avoiding the Unmanageable and Managing the Unavoidable

The Center for Policy Studies was a co-sponsor of the official release event in Hungary of the Report of the United Nations Scientific Expert Group (UN SEG) on Climate Change and Sustainable Development.
This event which was co-organized by the Ministry of Environment and Water and CEU took place simultaneously with the worldwide release of the Report.
CEU’s Diana Urge-Vorsatz, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences and Policy, also a member of UN SEG presented the findings of the Report on 28 February and led the discussions on the relevance of the recommendations and potential implementation of the UN SEG Report for Hungary, with the participation of:
- Miklos Persanyi, Minister of Environment and Water
- Abel Garamhegyi, State Secretary, Ministry of Economy and Transport
- H.E. Borbala Czako, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Ambassador of Hungary to the UK, President of the Hungarian Business Leaders Forum and leading experts in the field.
