She is a Senior Lecturer at Halmstad University, Sweden, and in AY 2019/2020, a Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at European University in Florence, Italy. She holds a PhD in public policy/political science from CEU, an MA in political science from CEU (1999) and a BA in journalism from Stockholm University (1997). Before entering academia, she worked at different locations as a news journalist for the public service broadcasting company Swedish Radio, and she still occasionally contributes to broadcast and print media in Sweden. She takes a special research interest in policy formation and governance structures in European cross-border regions and has published on that topic in Eurasian Geography and Economy, Journal of European Integration, Regional & Federal Studies, Territory/Politics/Governance, Regions & Cohesion, Journal of Borderlands Studies and various edited volumes. As a Jean Monnet Fellow at EUI in 2019/2020, she seeks to map current (potential) transformations in cross-border institutional activity and understand the mechanisms of the changed political environment. Her research project will especially focus on institutional reactions to re-bordering policies.
