Call for short-term field researcher in Slovakia

The CEU Center for Policy Studies is searching for a researcher interested in conducting a short-term field research in Slovakia in frame of the NGOST project.

Brief job description

• Academic and policy literature search and preparation for review
• Fieldwork preparation in Lučenec district (focusing on Fil'akovo city and surrounding municipalities)
• In-depth interviews (mostly in Hungarian) with:
• Roma young people (18-30 yrs)
• Local administration staff
• School and educational autority staff
• Participation in subsequent public events and public debates
• Interview transcriptions and preparation for analysis
• Regular coordination with and reporting to main researcher

Researcher profile

• Native Slovakian and Hungarian speaker & English as working language for literature search
• BA with field research experience, MA in related social sciences field
• Research experience in the application of qualitative methods
• Knowledge, interest and experience in education / labour market and minorities
• Proactive attitude in adapting fieldwork techniques to given situations
