Dynamics of Roma Exclusion and Inclusion in Local Settings: Hungary, Romania, Serbia
As part of its Thematic Research Seminars the Center for Policy Studies, CEU cordially invites you to the next event of the series
DYNAMICS OF ROMA EXCLUSION AND INCLUSION IN LOCAL SETTINGS: HUNGARY, ROMANIA, SERBIA
This “work in progress” seminar will present the results of Part 2 of a UNDP-OSF-CEU CPS joint research- and policy initiative titled “Faces and Causes of Roma Marginalization in Local Settings”.
Through applying a range of quantitative and qualitative methods, this part of the project focused on a selected sample of municipalities (20-30 per country) in Hungary, Romania, and Serbia to explore basic local social services and infrastructure provisions, conditions of political participation of the Roma, and local interventions targeting Roma inclusion approaching them from both a Roma and a majoritarian perspective. In the framework of the project, new methodologies have been developed to assist close Roma–non-Roma collaboration in field research; in addition, a new toolkit was developed to help regular local Roma monitoring of (non)access and (non)participation.
