EDUMIGROM publishes its third Newsletter in June 2010

The third Newsletter shares the latest updates on the project and its outputs, continues introducing institutional members of the consortium, as well as the communities in which research is being conducted.

"Social Inclusion by Education" media briefing took place in Barcelona

Julia Szalai presented EDUMIGROM at a media briefing on 'Social Inclusion by Education in Europe's Multicultural Society,' organised by the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission.

'Segregation and Schooling': the EDUMIGROM research group is organizing a roundtable discussion at Babes-Bolyai University on May 27, 2010, in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The roundtable discussion will include a public lecture by Dr. Vera Messing (Center for Policy Studies, Central European University, Hungary), on how school segregation shapes students' performance, self-esteem and future aspirations. Dr. Bolette Moldenhawer (University of Copenhagen, Denmark) and Dr. Eniko Vincze (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania) will act as discussants.

Call for applications: Erasmus Mundus visiting scholars

Central European University (CEU) Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP) is seeking short-term visiting scholars. The European Commission supports academics contributing to Mundus MAPP by special scholarships under the Erasmus Mundus Programme. Each scholarship consists of a € 1200 / week stipend for a maximum duration of up to three months. The Mundus MAPP Consortium selects, and forwards to the European Commission for approval, three or four scholars each year (assuming 3-month-long grant periods).
